# Evidence store decisions

Evidence is not a side file. If a later product cites a fact, the citation has to resolve to the document DMS stored and the extraction that produced the fact.

## Settled decisions

- The original bytes are immutable once accepted.
- Extractions are versioned. A new model run does not overwrite the previous evidence.
- Other products link to DMS. They do not keep a private copy of the pack.
