# Workbench decisions

A case is the underwriter's record of what was considered and what was decided. The workspace keeps that record attached to the submission, not in a side spreadsheet.

## Settled decisions

- One open case per submission.
- Notes that change the decision are events, not edits that erase the previous note.
- Actuarial referral is a state of the case, not a second product.
